Installation Art
Installation art is an artistic genre of three-dimensional works that are often site-specific and designed to transform the perception of a space.
In this sense, the installation is created especially for a particular gallery space or outdoor site, and it comprises not just a group of discrete art objects to be viewed as individual works but an entire ensemble or environment.
Purpose: to evoke complex and multiple associations and thoughts, longings, and moods.
IWB:
1. Reflect on "What is Installation Art?", define it.
2. Pick 2 art installations you like. Insert pictures. Talk about WHY you like it; elements of art, use of space, feeling evoked. Talk about HOW (specifically) it changes the space (alters mood, feeling or thought).
3. Pick 1 artist and create an artist page in your IWB.

The piece involved the artist sitting in front of a small black table, hand-mending patches of fabric together which visitors are encouraged to cut themselves near the entrance. As the performance continues, the piece grows as one continuous cloth and lays spread on the floor....

It is common in Japan to dress up the jizo statues (Bodhisattva protectors of travelers, women and children in Taoist, Buddhist and Shinto traditions).
