Art 1 & Art 1 PreAP
Welcome to Art 1! This is an introductory class that covers a wide range of media and vocabulary. The purpose of Art 1 is to allow students to sample all different types of art. It teaches basic art theory that every well-rounded person should know and prepares students to go into the upperlevel classes that interests them the most.

Drawing 1
Drawing 1 is an on-level class that developes and stretches your drawing skills. The class is broken up into sections by medium. We explore graphite, charcoal, pastels, ink and mixed media in depth. Students are also encouraged to challenge themselves with Independent Study Projects.
Digital Art & Media 1
Love computers? This class is an introductory level class that walks through the basics of creating images for print and web. Using Adobe Creative Suite products, students will learn to edit, retouch and create new images. Students will also explore the basics of photography.

International Baccalaureate Art Program
The IB Art Program is a strenuous art program that challenges students to direct their own artistic learning. Students keep an Investigation Workbook in which they document their learning process and artistic explorations. In their investigation workbooks students will fully explore an integrated range of ideas within a contextual, visual and critical framework, and produce studio work based on their visual and written investigation. This is a two year program in which students create 12 college level pieces of art per year and cumulates in creating a student gallery and taking the IB test for college credit.
